Choose two readings from the previous weeks that have already been discussed in class.
The Critical Reading Log serves two main purposes:
To help you maintain a structured record of your readings, identifying key concepts or quotations that drew your attention. You should also connect the authors’ arguments, finding points of comparison or contrast between the two readings.
To encourage critical thinking by offering your opinion on the texts. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the authors’ arguments? Provide supporting evidence from history, media, film, fiction, or other relevant sources to back up your claims.
Your submission should be no more than 500 words (double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font).
Include your name and the date at the top of the page in single space before beginning your response.
Be sure to use in-text citations when directly quoting the authors and include a references page at the end.
Late submissions will lose 0.5 points per hour. Each log is worth 5% of your overall grade, and you will have four submissions in total.
The 2 readings are :::
Kanchana, Radhika “Is the Kafala Tradition to Blame for the Exploitative Work Conditions in the Arab-Gulf Countries?” South Asian Migration in the Gulf Causes and Consequences. Springer EBooks. 2018.
Mahdavi, Pardis “Migration in Context.” In Gridlock: Labor, Migration, and Human Trafficking in Dubai, (((91–124)))pg. Stanford, California: Stanford University Press, 2011.
………..
Please make sure in between 400-500 words no more. And please use simple basic words, nothing complicated and I will provide you with an example of one I did before.
