The case is about a family who was a part of the synagogue for several generations. They get married and have a child only to find out 9 months later that their daughter Rebecca was diagnosed by psychologists with mental retardation. Both of her parents Jason and Rachel felt several emotions at this time which is normal. Both Jason and Rachel went to their Rabbi for counseling.
